The primary function of college and career readiness coaching (CCR) is to support our students in preparing for life after The Palmetto Excel Center.
An integral part of the student experience at The Palmetto Excel Center focuses on students preparing for employment opportunities after earning their South Carolina high school diplomas. All students are expected to complete industry-based certification training, prepare for joining the U.S. Armed Forces, or complete at least six college credits toward a post-secondary degree.
Students engage in exercises designed to build self-awareness and create an informed pathway to a new career choice that fits their personality, skills, and life goals. Using the U.S. Department of Labor’s O-Net Resource, students explore various career options that are in demand in the Tri-County and Charleston metro area.
